Lakeland Police located a portion of the fifty-five Dell laptop computers stolen from Lakeland High School on April 30, 2011, after receiving information that one of the stolen laptops was located in the area of Mulberry, Florida. Detectives received the information on May 10, 2011, and were able to locate that laptop and back track the trail of the laptop as they interviewed people and developed leads. Detectives developed information that led them to a wooded area near Lakeland High School where they located the stolen computer stand and three crates. Thirteen of the laptops were located in the residence of Wyatt Wise. Detectives continued to follow leads until a total of 37 laptops were recovered. There are now 18 laptops still missing. The investigation indicated that Wyatt Wise, age 17, of Lakeland, and Ralph Paris, IV, age 16, of Lakeland, burglarized the school. Both were arrested and charged with Burglary to a Structure (F3) and Grand Theft (F2).
