On Friday, September 7, 2012, Lakeland Police arrested Springhead Elementary P.T.A. Treasurer, Lisa Shirah, on the following charges: 2 counts of Theft of Personal Identification Information, 6 counts of Forgery, 6 counts of Uttering Forged Instrument, Grand Theft and Scheming to Defraud.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives found that Ms. Shirah deprived the Springhead Elementary P.T.A. of $16,678.48 in U.S. currency. There are nine checks in question. Three of the nine checks were deposited into Shirah’s account, and six of the nine checks were endorsed by her and cashed.
Shirah was the President of the Springhead Elementary P.T.A. from October 2011 until January 2012. At that time, she became the Treasurer for the P.T.A. until July 26, 2012.
